So blessed to have the opportunity to take my kids on a Job Shadowing feildtrip through our school's Next Prep program! Our trip to the private studio of Damon Davis was a beautiful exprience! My students were enthralled in a deep conversation with the artist that took us to the last minute of our feild trip. He was both humbled and inspired by our kid's questions. And our kids were captivated by his artwork and his wisdom!

Took a solid month to do this peice, the first in my new Tarrot series ^_^. Love of my Life was made for the recent Erykah Badu Art Exprience (more pictures coming soon)
Immediately after the show it went on display in the private restaurant The Kitchen, in the up-and-coming Fountian Park area.

I didn't expect to cry as hard as I did when I met this amazing woman. I had given up on my dreams of publishing a long time ago. As as I pick up my pen and dive into comics I needed to see her in person. Thank you Tomi. You dont know what this meant to me

Shes from St Louis, family is still here.
She served with the vatican for several years.
Upon her passing, her body began to do something interesting: it didn't decompose. She still looks mostly the same since the day of her passing.
The vatican put her body on display as a miracle without the family's consistent
The family recently resolved that situation and returned her to the family
Tonight is the celebration!

This peice took 3 months and a lot of cutting. Cardboard, matte board, wood, bike parts, wallpaper, metalic confetti, popsicle sticks, upholstery swatches, fabric @_@
At one point, nothing was painted, all colors were natual, but i ended up using wood stain and acrylic for some parts.
It sticks out 3 inches from the wall and was the most fun I've had in a long time ^_^
thinking of diving into more mixed media
